Dubai Chamber organizes 510 bilateral business meetings between Dubai and Ethiopian companies

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, concluded the activities of its trade mission to Ghana and Ethiopia, by organizing 510 bilateral business meetings in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, between companies from Dubai and their counterparts in Ethiopia, with the aim of exploring cooperation opportunities and concluding new partnerships in a group of priority sectors.

The Chamber in Addis Ababa recorded a record number of bilateral meetings it organizes between Dubai companies and companies in the markets they visit, amounting to 510 bilateral meetings, which is the highest since the launch of the “Broad Horizons for External Expansion” initiative in 2023, to support Dubai companies in their external expansion efforts in global markets.

The Dubai Chamber confirmed that recording this record reflects the confidence of the global business community in the importance of the business system, the status of Dubai, and the increasing desire of foreign companies to strengthen economic ties and partnerships with the business community in Dubai.

Within the framework of the Trade Mission Programme, Dubai Chamber organized the Dubai-Ethiopia Business Forum, in cooperation with the UAE Embassy in Ethiopia, the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and sectoral bodies, the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and sectoral bodies, and the Ethiopian Investment Authority. 669 senior officials, business leaders and representatives of local companies participated in the forum, to explore horizons of cooperation and partnership opportunities between members of the Dubai delegation and the Ethiopian business community.

Director General of Dubai Chambers, Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, said: “We are committed to expanding the horizons of economic relations between Dubai and Ethiopia, based on our keenness to build fruitful bridges of cooperation that open new partnerships between private sector companies,” pointing out that this trade mission is an important opportunity to enhance direct dialogue between companies and explore the promising potential that abounds in the Ethiopian market, in a way that supports the external expansion plans of Dubai companies, and stimulates the establishment of qualitative partnerships.

Representatives of 21 companies operating in Dubai participated in the activities of the trade mission to Ethiopia, within various sectors including automobiles, building materials and construction, electronics, engineering, fast-moving consumer goods, in addition to food and beverages, interior design, mining, oil and gas, in addition to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, printing and packaging, textiles and ready-made clothing.

It is noteworthy that the value of non-oil trade between Dubai and Ethiopia reached 22.3 billion dirhams in 2025, with an annual growth rate of 236.6%, while 91 new companies joined the membership of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce during the first quarter of 2026, bringing the total number of Ethiopian companies registered in the chamber’s membership to 1,676 companies by the end of the first quarter of 2026.
