Emirates SkyCargo operates a weekly flight to Almaty

Emirates SkyCargo, the air cargo arm of Emirates Airlines, announced its intention to launch weekly air cargo flights aboard a specialized Boeing F777 cargo aircraft to Almaty International Airport in Kazakhstan, starting June 16, 2026.

Almaty is the Emirates’ first air cargo destination in Central Asia, allowing the new weekly cargo flights from Dubai to open a new vital trade corridor linking the region to the carrier’s global flight network, especially since the city, which is considered the largest city in Kazakhstan, is a growing commercial and logistical center, and represents an important economic and commercial gateway to Central Asia.

The weekly air freight service, which will be operated by Emirates Sky Cargo on Tuesdays every week, will provide more than 100 tons of cargo capacity per week, facilitating the movement of shipping essential goods, including electronics, perishable materials, machinery and other consumer goods, between Almaty and the rest of the world via Dubai.

It is noteworthy that, in line with the increasing global demand, Emirates SkyCargo is working to strategically strengthen its fleet of freighter aircraft and its global flight network, as it has received four new Boeing 777 freighter aircraft since March 2026, and is scheduled to receive six more freighter aircraft during the remainder of the current year, bringing its fleet of freighter aircraft to 22 aircraft by December 2026.
