18.2 percent increase in profits of major industrial companies in China during the first third

BEIJING, May 27 / WAM / Official Chinese data showed that the profits of major industrial companies in China rose by 18.2 percent on an annual basis during the period between last January and April, exceeding the increase recorded during the first quarter of this year, which amounted to 15.5 percent.

Data issued by the National Bureau of Statistics in China today, Wednesday, showed that industrial companies, each with annual main business revenues of no less than 20 million yuan (about 2.93 million US dollars), saw their combined profits reach 2.44 trillion yuan during the first four months.

She pointed out that during last April alone, the profits of major industrial companies rose by 24.7 percent on an annual basis.
