Dubai Customs increases its operational readiness at ports and airports to ensure smooth reception of pilgrims and travelers during the Eid holiday.

DUBAI, May 28 / WAM / Dubai Customs has strengthened its operational and field readiness at customs ports and airports, in preparation for the return of pilgrims and the increasing movement of travelers during the Eid Al Adha holiday, ensuring smooth transit traffic, accelerating customs procedures and providing a safe and smooth travel experience.
These preparations come within an integrated operational system implemented by Dubai Customs during peak seasons, by employing smart solutions and advanced digital technologies to reduce waiting times, while maintaining the highest standards of security and safety.
Khaled Ahmed, Director of the Passenger Operations Department at Dubai Customs, confirmed that the department has developed an integrated operational plan at Dubai airports in preparation for the return of pilgrims, noting that work teams are working around the clock to facilitate the movement of passengers and speed up customs procedures in a way that ensures the comfort of pilgrims and visitors and enhances the flow of movement in the arrival and departure halls.
He said that Dubai Customs was keen to strengthen field cadres and raise the readiness of smart systems and modern inspection devices, which contributes to accelerating detection and inspection operations and achieving the highest levels of smoothness during peak periods, stressing that relying on smart solutions and advanced technologies has become an essential element in developing the customs work system and raising the efficiency of services provided to travelers.
He explained that a special lane has been allocated in the hand luggage inspection area adjacent to the “counters” of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security designated for pilgrims, with the aim of speeding up transit procedures, in addition to specifying luggage belts close to the exit gates in the Dubai International Airport buildings to facilitate the receipt of pilgrims’ luggage, in addition to allocating exit gates for pilgrims through electronic inspection gates to ensure the flow of movement and not interfering with the rest of the travelers in the customs inspection halls.
He pointed out that coordination had been made with the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services to provide a paramedic in the Dubai Customs hall at the airport in anticipation of any emergency cases or health symptoms.
Khaled Al-Muezzin, Director of the Hatta Customs Department at Dubai Customs, confirmed the continued readiness of the Hatta port to deal with the expected increase in the number of travelers during the Hajj season and the Eid Al-Adha holiday, noting that the administration has intensified its operational and field efforts to ensure the smooth flow of transit movement and the speedy completion of customs procedures through the port.
He said that the work teams at the Hatta port work very efficiently and around the clock to provide the best services to pilgrims, visitors and travelers, while providing a safe and comfortable travel environment that reflects the quality of government services in the UAE and keeps pace with customers’ expectations during peak seasons.
He explained that the administration has strengthened its operational readiness by providing the necessary logistical and technical support, raising the efficiency of field shifts, in addition to intensifying coordination with the concerned authorities and strategic partners at the border crossing to ensure rapid response to the increasing movement and organizing the movement of passengers and buses during the Eid period.
Dubai Customs continues to implement its plans aimed at raising the efficiency of operational processes at various ports, by taking advantage of the latest technologies and digital solutions that support speed of completion and accuracy of performance, in line with the directions of the Dubai Government in providing government services.
