The officials explained that President Trump informed his advisors of his desire to wait for several days before deciding to sign the draft agreement, the text of which appears almost final. For his part, US Vice President J.D. Vance said that there are “some linguistic points” that are still under discussion. According to the sources, this initial agreement will launch a new round of negotiations that will last for 60 days to discuss Tehran’s nuclear file.

In a context related to field tensions, the naval forces of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced, through a linked account on the Telegram platform, that warning shots had been fired at four ships near the Strait of Hormuz, claiming that they were trying to cross the waterway “without prior coordination or permission.”

Trump’s desire to delay for several days came after the White House was notified this week of Iran’s acceptance of the latest draft proposed to end the war. An American official said that Trump would not sign the document until he received conclusive confirmation of its approval by Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.
