The hospital explained that the patient was taken to the emergency department and was suffering from severe pain. His condition required urgent medical and surgical intervention following a clinical evaluation and advanced diagnostic tests that confirmed the presence of the complete blockage. The case was dealt with immediately according to the approved urgent care paths, and with high integrated participation between the medical, surgical and nursing teams and the hospital’s supporting departments.

Surgical intervention

The medical team carried out a qualitative surgical intervention that included an exploratory opening of the abdomen and a colon anastomosis, according to a precise treatment plan aimed at maintaining the stability of the condition and increasing the chances of recovery.

The surgical operation took about 3 continuous hours, in which a multidisciplinary medical team from the departments of surgery, anesthesia, and intensive care participated, in addition to health practitioners, technicians, nursing teams, and support services. The total number of participating staff was 9 health practitioners.

A noticeable improvement

The hospital added that the health condition of the Algerian pilgrim witnessed – praise be to God – a noticeable improvement and stability in his vital indicators after the success of the operation, with the beginning of his good response to the prescribed treatment plan.

In this context, the head of the surgery department, Dr. Khaled Al-Zahrani, confirmed that the speed of diagnosis and early intervention played a pivotal role in successfully dealing with the condition and reducing possible complications, Pointing out that integration and harmony between different medical specialties contributed to raising the efficiency of therapeutic intervention and achieving the best possible results for the patient.

Heraa Hospital indicated that this case reflects the importance of preventive examinations and early detection; Because some diseases develop without clear symptoms in their early stages.
