Dubai Chambers holds a series of meetings to enhance trade and investment exchange with Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, May 31 / WAM / Dubai Chambers discussed with a number of government bodies and economic and investment institutions in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, mechanisms for enhancing trade and investment exchange between Dubai and Ethiopia.

According to a press release issued today, the Chambers held a meeting with the Ministry of Industry in Ethiopia, in the presence of His Excellency Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, Director General of Dubai Chambers, and His Excellency Melaku Alibel, Minister of Industry, where the two sides discussed opportunities to develop cooperation in the industrial sectors, and mechanisms to support partnerships between the private sector, in a way that contributes to enhancing trade exchange and opening new horizons for joint investment work.

The chambers also met with the Ethiopian Investment Authority, in the presence of Dr. Zenabu Yebja, Deputy Commissioner of the Authority, where the meeting discussed opportunities to attract investments and enhance cooperation in priority sectors, in addition to reviewing the investment environment in Dubai, Ethiopia and the advantages available to investors and international companies.

The chambers also held a meeting with the Ethiopia Investment Holding Company, which is the largest sovereign fund in Africa, in the presence of Melikit Sahlo, Executive Vice President of the company, where the two parties discussed opportunities for cooperation and mechanisms for building long-term partnerships that support economic development and provide new opportunities for companies and investors from Dubai and Ethiopia.

The meetings were part of the trade mission led by the Chamber to Ethiopia and Ghana with the aim of supporting the expansion of companies operating in Dubai towards African markets with promising potential.
