The Kuwaiti Minister of Interior orders an urgent investigation after 3 inmates escaped from correctional institutions

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of Kuwait, Fahd Al-Yousef, issued urgent directives to form an immediate investigation committee to determine the circumstances of the escape of three inmates from correctional institutions, and to review all circumstances and procedures related to the incident.
The minister stressed, according to a statement by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior on Monday, the necessity of taking all necessary security measures urgently, assigning the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and the competent security authorities to intensify their efforts to arrest the fugitives as quickly as possible. He also directed that their data be circulated to all land, sea and air border crossings, to prevent their departure from the country and to enhance search and follow-up operations.
In the same context, the security authorities called on citizens and residents to be careful and not deal with the escaped inmates, stressing the importance of immediately reporting any information that may contribute to determining their whereabouts or arresting them, via the emergency phone (112).
The Ministry of Interior stressed that it will take legal measures against any person proven to be involved in providing assistance to fugitives, harboring them, or covering up for them, stressing the continuation of intensive security efforts to arrest them and return them to the competent authorities.
