Sharjah Digital confirms its readiness to lead the development of the assistive artificial intelligence program

Sharjah, 2 June / WAM / The Sharjah Digital Department confirmed its readiness to lead the development of the Sharjah Program for Assistive Artificial Intelligence, in coordination with government agencies, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council, regarding accelerating the transition towards a government supported by assistive artificial intelligence.
Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of the Sharjah Digital Department, said that the directives of His Highness the Crown Prince of Sharjah represent an important stage in the emirate’s digital transformation process, and confirm the exceptional importance of employing assistive artificial intelligence in a practical and responsible manner, in a way that enhances the efficiency of government work and supports the quality of services.
He added that the department will work, in cooperation with government agencies and partners, to develop an integrated program that takes into account the readiness of agencies, builds national capabilities, and transforms artificial intelligence opportunities into tangible value that serves humans and society.
In this regard, the department explained that artificial intelligence was not a separate path from the digital transformation strategy in the Emirate of Sharjah, but rather an integrated component within its strategic axes, from digital services, data and infrastructure to cybersecurity and digital empowerment.
She described assistive artificial intelligence today as an opportunity to accelerate this trend and move it to a more focused, implemented, and future-ready level, in line with Sharjah’s approach to human-centered digital integration, enhancing the efficiency of government work, digital sovereignty, and building sustainable government capabilities.
During the next phase, the Sharjah Digital Department will work to develop an integrated approach based on two parallel tracks. The first focuses on launching immediate initiatives that enhance awareness and readiness and support early practical adoption, and the second aims to build a sustainable government capacity for assistive artificial intelligence at the emirate level by setting priorities, assessing the readiness of entities, and developing the necessary capabilities and frameworks for responsible and safe adoption.
In this regard, the department will strengthen its cooperation with government agencies, the private sector, academic institutions, and society, to ensure the development of a practical, implementable program that reflects the needs of the emirate, and transforms the opportunities of assistive artificial intelligence into tangible value in government services and operations.
