The European Conservatives and Reformists Party hosted a conference in the presence of Mohammed Ismail Al Sahlawi, the UAE Ambassador to the European Union, the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, along with a large number of members of the European Parliament representing European parties, on the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood and political Islam.

The participants stressed the danger posed by the terrorist Brotherhood to European societies, highlighting the mechanisms that the group employs to attract individuals and destabilize security and stability.

They also praised the model followed by the UAE in classifying the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization, calling on the international community to benefit from the UAE’s experience in this context.

For his part, Muhammad Ismail Al-Sahlawi affirmed the UAE’s consistent approach to combating extremism and terrorism and thwarting acts of violence and destabilization practiced by branches of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood wherever they exist, stressing that the UAE’s approach is based on promoting the values ​​of coexistence and tolerance and rejecting violence and extremism, stressing the importance of international and regional cooperation in combating this scourge.

He pointed out that the UAE welcomed the announcement by a number of countries of classifying branches of the Brotherhood in countries in the region as terrorist organizations, based on official reports that proved the involvement of these branches in illegal cross-border activities, including terrorist acts and public calls to extremism, in addition to their association with terrorist organizations.

He stressed that this step is consistent with the ongoing and systematic efforts aimed at thwarting acts of violence and destabilization practiced by branches of the terrorist Brotherhood wherever they exist.

He reaffirmed the UAE’s support for all international efforts aimed at combating extremism and terrorism, and enhancing security and stability at the regional and international levels.
