SHARJAH, June 3, 2017 (WAM) – Expo Center Sharjah attracted more than 500,000 visitors during the first half of 2026, who flocked to more than 30 exhibitions and specialized economic, commercial and community events that received the participation of about 1,900 exhibitors from 45 countries around the world, achieving remarkable growth rates that strengthened its position as one of the most prominent exhibition and conference industry centers in the region, and contributed to consolidating the position of the Emirate of Sharjah as a leading global destination. The announcement of this system of qualitative achievements came during the ceremony organized by the Center to celebrate World Exhibition Day, which was held this year under the slogan “Exhibitions Create Opportunities,” in the presence of His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Center Sharjah, and His Excellency Mahmoud Yousef Al-Jarrah, Secretary General of the Arab Federation for International Exhibitions and Conferences, along with heads of departments, department directors, and employees of the Center, to highlight the rich agenda implemented by the Center and targeting strategic sectors such as industry, real estate, jewelry, and agriculture. Retail and entrepreneurship, the most prominent of which are the Steel Fab 2026, Sharjah Real Estate Acres 2026, Emirates Jewels 2026, Ramadan Nights, and the Eid Al Adha Shopping Exhibition, in addition to the events hosted by Expo Al Dhaid and Expo Khor Fakkan.
Saif Al Midfa stressed that the achieved record results reflect the clear strategic vision of the center based on developing work mechanisms, raising operating efficiency, and expanding the scope of attracting events to keep pace with the needs of the business community, pointing out that these achievements are in line with the global leadership of the UAE, which ranked first regionally and ranked 31st globally in the 2025 World Classification of Countries and Cities report issued by the International Convention and Convention Association (ICCA), which reflects the strength of the country’s infrastructure.
He pointed out that the Center continued to move forward in expanding its network of international relations and strategic partnerships by receiving delegations and holding bilateral meetings with exhibition organizers and international bodies, including the British “IMEX” group and the German “Messe Essen” company, to exchange best practices and attract more international events to Sharjah.
Expo Center Sharjah is preparing to launch a package of specialized and seasonal exhibitions during the second half of 2026, most notably the 57th edition of the Middle East Watch and Jewelry Exhibition, which is scheduled to be held from June 10 to 14 with the participation of about 400 exhibitors from 19 countries, followed by the Emirates Perfumes and Oud, Middle East Cosmetics, Future Mobility, and International Education exhibitions, in addition to a wide range of commercial and consumer events that contribute to stimulating the economic boom movement. It serves various segments of society.
