Emirates Airlines confirms its readiness to operate daily flights to Berlin and Stuttgart

Emirates Airlines confirmed its readiness to launch daily flights to the German cities of Berlin and Stuttgart, and its commitment to invest more than 100 million euros annually to operate these two new routes in the form of operational expenses, employee salaries, in addition to airport fees, fuel, and other expenses, subject to the approval of the German Federal Ministry of Transport to operate the two routes.

Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airlines, said that the carrier is ready to provide daily flights with wide-body aircraft to Berlin and Stuttgart, and to connect them to its extensive global flight network, supported by huge investments. He pointed out that the two cities are among the most important economic centers in Germany, but they still lack long-range flights, and that German industrial, commercial and service companies have confirmed their urgent need for these services to support their activities and operations, and the Berlin Chamber of Commerce has also called for the provision of such flights.

He added that our “Emirates Airlines” data confirms the presence of a large demand, and that flights are expected to be full, as the carrier already connects Germany to 50 destinations in Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Australia, which are destinations that are not served by any German airline, despite being important destinations for German exporters, tour operators, and millions of travelers looking for wider options and better connecting flights, expressing his hope that Emirates Airlines will have the opportunity to serve these two cities and their communities, and affirming its commitment. By working constructively with the German authorities to achieve this, and providing tangible benefits that will spread to both cities from the first day of its operations.

Berlin is home to about 3.9 million people, and is home to a thriving startup ecosystem and a cultural scene that attracts millions of visitors annually.

As for the city of Stuttgart, which is the economic engine of the state of Baden-Württemberg, one of the German states most dependent on exports, it still suffers from limited long-range air connectivity, despite the great importance of this type of service for manufacturers, suppliers and trade partners.

It is expected that the new flights to Berlin and Stuttgart will contribute to providing hundreds of direct and indirect job opportunities.
