Zayed University hosts 500 male and female students in the largest Chinese language proficiency competition in the Emirates

Zayed University organized the UAE regional finals for the “China Bridge” Chinese Language Proficiency Competition for the year 2026, designated for primary, middle and university students, at its campus in Dubai, which reflects the university’s pioneering role as a prominent center for international cultural and educational exchange.
The competition was organized by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the United Arab Emirates and the Confucius Institute at Zayed University, under the umbrella of the university’s “Institute for Professional and Continuing Education” initiative.
This competition is one of the largest events specialized in mastering the Chinese language in the country, as it annually attracts between 500 and 600 students, which reflects the growing interest in learning the Chinese language in various parts of the United Arab Emirates.
The competition included three main categories, which included primary school students, middle school students, and university students. They were evaluated through linguistic, cultural, and performance tests and presentations, which highlighted their linguistic skills.
The event witnessed the presence of a number of dignitaries and officials, including the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the UAE, Zeng Jixin, and the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, or Buqian, along with a number of representatives of the Chinese Embassy, and the Project Director of the Chinese Language Expansion Program in the UAE, Fatima Ahmed Abdullah Al Bastaki. The event was also attended by a number of parents of participating students, members of the teaching and administrative staff at Zayed University, participating students, and strategic partners.
The jury announced the names of the winners of the competition, where Mansour Ahmed Hazza Al Shamsi from Hassan Bin Zayed School won in the primary stage category, while Khadija Sultan Al Khaizri from Applied Technology Schools won first place in the intermediate stage category.
At the university category level, Heba Mohammed Ahmed from the University of Dubai, Amna Ibrahim Al Obaidari from Zayed University, and Hazza Sultan Al Mazrouei from Zayed University won in recognition of their excellence and creativity in participation, and the high level of performance and innovation they demonstrated.
