The details of the agreement with Iran are vague… and the confrontation “is not over yet.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed, on Monday, that the confrontation with Iran “is not over yet,” in his first comment after announcing that an agreement had been reached between Washington and Tehran to end the war, while he clarified that “the details of the agreement with Iran are still vague.” Netanyahu stressed in a televised press conference that Tel Aviv “will not allow Tehran to possess nuclear weapons, regardless of whether an agreement is reached or not.”

The Israeli Prime Minister considered that the war with Iran spared his country the danger of “nuclear annihilation” by Tehran.

Netanyahu said that the Israeli army will maintain its presence in the Gaza Strip, Lebanon and Syria “as long as necessary.”

He stressed that Israel will move proactively on the northern front, saying: “We will maintain our freedom of movement (in Lebanon) to thwart any attack.”

Netanyahu touched on bilateral relations with Washington and the nature of coordination with the US administration, describing the relationship between him and US President Donald Trump as a partnership. He added: “Trump and I are partners. We agree a lot and disagree sometimes.”

On the other hand, Netanyahu announced on Monday his intention to run in the elections scheduled to be held later this year, while facing internal criticism regarding how he dealt with the Middle East war and its repercussions.

Netanyahu, the longest-serving prime minister in Israel’s history, said, “I will run in the elections and I intend to win.”
