Etihad Airways launches 4 new destinations and restarts 5 seasonal routes in its largest summer

Etihad Airways is entering its largest summer season ever, operating more than 300 flights daily, achieving record numbers in the number of passengers, launching or restarting nine new destinations within days, and continuing to accelerate the demand for travel to, from and through Abu Dhabi.

A press statement said that the achievement comes as Etihad Airways continues its rapid growth path, with summer capacity increasing by 10% year-on-year, supported by an aircraft fleet that has grown by 23 aircraft compared to the same period last year.

With flights operating at an occupancy rate of approximately 90%, the company is witnessing strong demand across its network that extends from Asia to Europe, North America, Africa and the Middle East.

Between June 11 and 14, 2026, the company successfully launched four new flights linking Abu Dhabi with Krakow, Palma de Mallorca, Damascus and Zanzibar. This week, it will also welcome the return of five popular seasonal destinations: Mykonos and Malaga from June 15, Santorini from June 16, Nice from June 19, and El Alamein from July 16.

Antonaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, said: Etihad Airways today carries more guests traveling to more destinations than ever before, with more than 300 flights operating daily to connect Abu Dhabi with more destinations than ever before.

He added: “During this week alone, we launched four new destinations, and welcomed the return of five seasonal destinations, which demonstrates the strength of demand on our network and the speed of our growth. As we enter the peak of the summer travel season, we are introducing our most ambitious summer program ever with the support of 23 additional aircraft and strong demand from all over the world, and we continue to grow with confidence, as we expand our network of destinations, and increase our capacity, to attract more visitors to Abu Dhabi.”

To support the growing demand for travel to Abu Dhabi, and facilitate the travel experience there, Etihad Airways and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi launched free medical insurance for international travelers coming to Abu Dhabi on Etihad flights. The initiative, available from July to December 2026 and managed by the National Insurance Company – Daman, provides eligible travelers with medical coverage for up to 15 days in the UAE, including travelers using Etihad Airways’ Abu Dhabi Stopover Programme, which continues to attract increasing numbers of visitors to Abu Dhabi by turning a transit trip into a short holiday.
