"World Congress of Military Medicine" It opens the door to receiving research and studies participating in its scientific program
ABU DHABI, June 17, 2026 – The Organizing Committee of the “Forty-Sixth International Congress of Military Medicine – Abu Dhabi 2026” announced the opening of the door to submit summaries of scientific research and studies to researchers, specialists and students, in preparation for their presentation and discussion during the sessions of the Congress, which will be held during the period from 9 to 13 November 2026 at the ADNEC Abu Dhabi Centre.
The committee invited experts, specialists and researchers wishing to participate in the scientific program of Congress, which is organized by the UAE Ministry of Defense in cooperation with the ADNEC Group, and under the supervision of the International Commission for Military Medicine (ICMM), to submit their summaries via the digital platform on the official website of Congress (www.icmm.ae).
The committee explained that the digital platform is the only official channel for submitting and reviewing scientific abstracts, to ensure a transparent and effective process for providing a rich scientific program targeting a multidisciplinary international audience of medical and military leaders and international experts, noting that the period for receiving abstracts will continue until June 30, with the review phase starting from July 1, 2026.
The committee invited researchers, doctors, practitioners and students from various medical specialties to share their scientific summaries that review innovations, research results and best practices in the fields of medicine, in a way that enriches scientific dialogue and enhances the exchange of experiences and knowledge.
The scientific program of the “Forty-Sixth World Congress of Military Medicine – Abu Dhabi 2026” includes a wide range of specialized scientific sessions that discuss the latest developments in the fields of military medicine and health care related to field operations, including topics of medical preparedness, disaster response, and emerging medical technologies, in addition to workshops, professional meetings, and the accompanying exhibition, which provides an integrated platform for scientific dialogue, exchange of experiences, and building international partnerships.
The Congress receives scientific summaries from researchers, practitioners, and students within five main themes that reflect recent developments in the fields of military medicine and related specialties, the first of which is “health examinations and medical readiness,” and focuses on issues related to preserving the health of the military and enhancing their medical readiness, including threats of infectious diseases, protecting the health of the military, and individual and training medical readiness, in addition to the topics of mental health, resilience, and care for post-traumatic stress disorder, in addition to medical readiness and response to the dangers of chemical, biological, and radiological materials. And the second is “Medical and Surgical Care,” which deals with methods of providing advanced medical care in operational environments with limited resources, including care for injuries and burns, dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and medical evacuation operations, in addition to reviewing lessons learned from field military operations, topics of naval medicine and underwater medicine, frontal surgical care, and methods of resuscitation by controlling bleeding.
The third axis of the program is “Logistics Readiness and Supply Chains,” and focuses on medical and logistical support systems that contribute to enhancing the efficiency of military health services, including the fields of pharmacy, humanitarian response, medical logistics management and supply chains, in addition to blood programs and mechanisms to support medical operations in various environments, while the fourth axis “Research and Innovation” reviews the latest research and innovation trends in military medicine, including the use of artificial intelligence in disaster preparedness, management of large gatherings, and related aviation and space medicine. A number of supporting medical specialties that contribute to the development of the military health care system, including the fields of nursing, rehabilitation, physical therapy, complementary medicine, and emergency medical support.
The program also includes a group of other diverse topics related to developments in military medicine and interdisciplinary specializations, such as the role of women in military service, veterinary medicine, the open research platform, in addition to various health fields, and the ethics and law of armed conflict.
In parallel with the launch of the scientific abstracts platform, the committee indicated that it had begun receiving requests from exhibitors and reserving spaces to participate in the exhibition accompanying Congress, allowing relevant entities, companies and institutions to display their solutions and services and communicate with participating leaders, experts and delegations within an integrated environment that combines the scientific program with the specialized exhibition.
The “46th International Congress of Military Medicine – Abu Dhabi 2026” is a leading international scientific platform held every two years since its inception in 1921, under the supervision of the International Committee for Military Medicine, as it brings together elite medical and military leaders, experts, researchers and practitioners from more than 120 countries, with the aim of exchanging knowledge and experiences, reviewing scientific developments, and enhancing international cooperation in the fields of medicine, in a way that serves the development of health care systems and raising their efficiency.
Through this global conference, the Ministry of Defense renews its commitment to supporting scientific knowledge, empowering medical personnel, and strengthening international partnerships that contribute to the development of military health care systems, ensuring readiness to respond to various health and humanitarian challenges, and strengthening the position of the United Arab Emirates in hosting and attracting qualitative international initiatives, as the Congress enjoys the support of the Tawazun Council for Defense Empowerment as a major partner.
Hosting the Congress in its forty-sixth session comes in line with the directives of the wise leadership, which pays great attention to developing civilian and military health care systems, enhancing medical preparedness, supporting humanitarian efforts, and consolidating the role of the United Arab Emirates as an active partner in building the global health security system, through scientific platforms that enable the exchange of experiences and the expansion of cooperation with relevant international bodies and institutions.
