“Abu Dhabi Health” reviews in the United States the emirate’s model for accelerating smart life sciences innovations

The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi is leading a high-level delegation to the United States of America during the period from June 18 to 25, to strengthen global strategic partnerships and review Abu Dhabi’s advanced system in smart life sciences, which provides an integrated model that accelerates the transformation of scientific discoveries into practical applications with a tangible impact in the health care sector.

The delegation’s visit includes the cities of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego, and includes a prominent participation in the 2026 World Conference of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization, in addition to meetings with American government agencies, academic and research institutions, and specialized companies, to discuss cooperation in the fields of drug discovery supported by artificial intelligence, gene editing, genetic treatments for rare and hereditary diseases, regenerative medicine, long healthy life, and advanced treatments.

The delegation includes representatives of a number of prominent partners in the health, investment and innovation sectors in Abu Dhabi, including Abu Dhabi Investment Office, M42, Masdar City, Khalifa University, Kizad Group, Hub71, PureHealth, Mubadala Bio, and Arcera.

The Abu Dhabi model is based on an integrated system that brings together population genomic data, advanced health data, research capabilities, and health care services within a flexible regulatory framework, allowing research to be conducted, innovations tested, and applied in practice.

The Health, Medicine and Fitness for Sustainable Living (HELM) Park helps accelerate the transformation of scientific discoveries into commercial applications and scalable health solutions.

Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, confirmed that the future of health innovation will belong to destinations capable of accelerating the transfer of scientific discoveries from laboratories to patients, noting that Abu Dhabi is paving the way for a new phase in smart life sciences through a pioneering model that unifies clinical, environmental, genomic, financial, and lifestyle-related data within an integrated smart health system, thus accelerating the development and testing of the next generation of health solutions and expanding the scope of their global adoption.

She added that the visit represents a strategic milestone to strengthen partnerships with leading global institutions in the fields of biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and advanced treatments, and to expand areas of cooperation that contribute to transforming scientific discoveries into applicable health solutions that make a tangible impact on the lives of patients and shape the future of health care worldwide.
