The UAE continues to support those affected by the Philippine earthquake as part of an urgent humanitarian response

The UAE continued to support those affected by the effects of the earthquake in Sarangani Province in the Philippines as part of an urgent humanitarian response.

In this context, the UAE response team, in the presence of the UAE Ambassador to the Philippines, Mohammed Obaid Al Qattam Al Zaabi, distributed about 700 food baskets and 500 gallons of drinking water to the affected families in the province, in coordination with local authorities.

The UAE response plan in the coming stages includes distributing more than 20,000 food baskets and 20,000 gallons of potable water, to meet the needs of the affected residents of the province and contribute to strengthening the ability of the affected families to overcome the repercussions of the earthquake.

The UAE Response Team carried out field visits to a number of affected areas, and learned directly about the conditions of families and their humanitarian needs to achieve the greatest possible impact on the ground.

This humanitarian response comes within the framework of the UAE’s keenness to continue its active humanitarian role in supporting those affected by natural disasters around the world, and to consolidate the values ​​of solidarity and international cooperation.
