More than 50 drones were seized near the World Cup hosting sites in America

The US Department of Homeland Security announced the seizure of more than 50 drones near the 2026 World Cup host sites since the tournament began last week.
US Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullen said that US agencies monitored and intercepted this number of drones in the vicinity of the tournament sites, as part of the strict security measures accompanying the competitions.
The US Federal Aviation Administration had imposed a ban on flying drones over the 2026 World Cup matches and associated mass events across the United States, as part of measures aimed at enhancing security during the tournament.
