18 publications by Fujairah Culture and Media at the Beijing Book Fair
BEIJING, June 19, 2020 (WAM) – The Fujairah Culture and Media Authority has revealed plans for future knowledge exchange with the Chinese side, including translating a number of publications issued by the authority into the Chinese language and translating Chinese books into Arabic, on the sidelines of its participation in the 32nd session of the Beijing International Book Fair 2026.
The Authority participates in the exhibition through the “Emirati House” pavilion, where it allocated a corner in which it displayed eighteen publications dealing with the history of the Emirate of Fujairah and its sheikhs, as well as publications that talk about the Emirati heritage in Fujairah, whether maritime or tangible and intangible.
The Authority presented a lecture entitled “The Future of Culture… Fujairah’s Vision for Strengthening Identity and Cultural Openness,” presented by Counselor Khalid Al-Hindassi, which addressed current challenges, future forecasts, and innovations in the cultural field, in addition to reviewing the cultural programs that characterize the Emirate of Fujairah and future plans for its cultural institutions and centers.
The lecture also touched on smart applications used in the field of culture and national identity through popular heritage.
Al-Hindassi pointed out the great demand witnessed by the Emirati Corner by visitors to the exhibition from the People’s Republic of China, stressing that the exhibition represents a platform for dialogue and the exchange of ideas and knowledge between the peoples of the world through culture.
He explained that plans for future cooperation with the Chinese side in the field of translation came as a result of the meetings that the Authority conducted with specialists in the cultural field during its presence at the exhibition.
