6 tons of cocaine worth $167 million were seized on two ships in the Pacific Ocean

The competent authorities in El Salvador seized more than six tons of cocaine during its transport across the Pacific Ocean.

Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele announced that his country’s navy found drugs on board two ships, and each ship carried the same quantity in addition to a crew of three people.

Bukele estimated the total value of the seized cocaine at about $167 million, describing the operation as a “new national record,” adding that six people had been arrested.

Bukele wrote on the “X” platform that El Salvador has seized more than 13 tons of cocaine so far this year, worth an estimated $332 million.
