The most famous Lebanese restaurant chain in Britain, Maroush, has begun bankruptcy procedures, according to a decision issued by the Supreme Court, according to British media.
She said that the restaurant, which began operating in 1981, began this administrative procedure in light of the ongoing challenges facing the hospitality sector in Britain, where increasing operating costs, labor shortages, rising property taxes, and changing consumer spending patterns have put pressure on restaurant owners.
It is noteworthy that the restaurant was founded by the Lebanese couple Marouf Abu Zaki and Hoda Abu Zaki, and they opened the first branch on “Egor Road,” which is called “Arab Street” because it includes the largest number of Arab stores, restaurants, and services, and many British Arabs, or tourists coming from Arab countries, gather there.
Maroush quickly became one of the largest and most famous brands in the Middle Eastern hospitality sector in London.
