The 12th session of the World Green Economy Summit begins in Dubai on October 21
DUBAI, June 20 / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and the World Green Economy Organization are organizing the twelfth session of the World Green Economy Summit on October 21 and 22 at the Dubai World Trade Center, under the slogan “From Achievement to Expansion: Shedding Light on the Green Economy.”
The summit brings together an elite group of decision-makers, business leaders, investors, infrastructure and resilience experts, and representatives of governments, the private sector and academia, to review practical, scalable solutions, discuss the most effective approaches to accelerating the transition towards a low-carbon economy, and enhancing the integration between economic development and environmental sustainability.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and President of the World Green Economy Organization, said: “Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the World Green Economy Summit has established itself as a leading global platform to enhance global dialogue and unify efforts to confront the challenges of climate change and accelerate the pace of transition towards a sustainable green economy. Since its inception, the Summit has contributed to embodying His Highness’s vision aimed at consolidating Dubai’s position as a global center for developing and formulating solutions. “For the future, and a comprehensive platform for building qualitative partnerships that support climate action and promote sustainable development paths at the global level.”
He added that the summit this year highlights a pivotal stage in the global transformation process towards a green economy. This transformation is no longer just a future aspiration, but has become a tangible reality supported by advanced technologies and innovative business models that achieve measurable returns. The summit focuses on accelerating the pace of adopting climate solutions and expanding the scope of successful models, which contributes to achieving sustainable economic growth and enhancing flexibility in various sectors. Under the slogan “From Achievement to Expansion: Shedding Light on the Green Economy,” the summit in its twelfth session confirms that the current stage requires a transition from reviewing stories. Success leads to its generalization, expansion of scope, and acceleration of its application on the ground.
The World Green Economy Summit 2026 focuses on four main themes, including energy and infrastructure technologies, business strategies and sustainable transformation, water and food security, and finance.
It addresses three common topics, including artificial intelligence as one of the main drivers for accelerating the green economy, governance as the link between ambition and implementation, and the capabilities of economic systems represented by supply chains and the circular economy, reflecting the comprehensiveness of the summit’s agenda and its response to accelerating global transformations.
The summit reviews how the green transformation is achieved on the ground, and promotes the adoption of innovative solutions in the fields of clean energy, sustainable infrastructure, green finance, water and food security, and business strategies, in a way that contributes to achieving climate and development goals at the regional and global levels.
Through its successive sessions, the Summit continues to consolidate the position of the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Dubai in leading global climate action, and to provide pioneering models that are applicable and expandable.
