BEIJING, June 20, 2020 (WAM) – His Excellency Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, UAE Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, confirmed that the country’s participation as a guest of honor in the 32nd session of the Beijing International Book Fair 2026 reflects the depth of the comprehensive strategic relations between the two countries, in various fields.
This came in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the Beijing International Book Fair 2026, which will be held at the China National Convention Center in the Chinese capital, Beijing, from June 17 to 21, in the presence of His Excellency Mubarak Al Nakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, and representatives of participating Emirati entities and institutions.
His Excellency Al Hammadi said that choosing the UAE as a guest of honor for the second time in this exhibition was a reflection of the deep relations that bind the two countries, noting that the UAE participation this year is distinguished by the presence of approximately 32 diverse national entities under the umbrella of the Ministry of Culture, working to highlight the cultural, cognitive and creative face of the UAE to the Chinese and international public.
His Excellency pointed out that the cultural sector is witnessing continuous development at the Chinese and global levels, especially with the entry of cloud computing technologies, artificial intelligence and digital tools into this sector, stressing that the Emirati cultural content on display reflects the quality and diversity of the national product, and introduces the Chinese audience to the depth of the Emirati experience.
He explained that the primary goal of participation is to introduce Emirati culture, but the ultimate goal is to move towards stronger and more comprehensive relations with China, stressing that culture constitutes the main focus for developing relations between countries.
The Emirati House, which is supervised by the UAE Embassy in Beijing in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, offers a cultural and professional program that includes more than 20 dialogue sessions and events that address the topics of publishing, translation, creative industries, and Emirati-Chinese cultural relations, in addition to signing parties for Emirati authors, displays of visual arts and Arabic calligraphy, and professional meetings with Chinese and international cultural and academic institutions.
The Beijing International Book Fair is one of the most prominent global cultural platforms, annually attracting thousands of publishers and cultural institutions from more than 100 countries, which makes the UAE participation a strategic opportunity to enhance the country’s cultural presence and establish culture as a bridge for cultural communication between peoples.
