Bahrain strongly condemns Iran’s targeting of its territory with a number of drones at dawn today

The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s condemnation in the strongest terms for targeting its territory at dawn today, Saturday, with a number of Iranian drones, in a blatant violation of its sovereignty, a blatant threat to the security of citizens and residents, and a flagrant violation of international norms and conventions that prohibit targeting civilian objects and terrorizing the safe.

She stressed that the Iranian regime’s continuation of its attacks, at a time when regional and international efforts are moving towards calm, places responsibility on Tehran alone for undermining peace efforts, and reveals an approach based on destabilizing security, exporting chaos, and undermining regional stability.

I also reaffirmed that peace cannot be built by intimidation, that security cannot be taken away by aggression, that Bahrain’s resolve is stronger than any threat, and that the unity of its national ranks is more difficult for those who think that continuing aggression will discourage honorable people from their principles or undermine their resolve.

She referred to Security Council Resolution No. 2817 (2026), which the Kingdom submitted on behalf of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Jordan, and which received the support of 136 countries as an expression of a unified international will. In this context, she stressed that Tehran’s persistence in its aggression represents a direct challenge to this international will, and that after it pledged to permanently stop military operations and respect the sovereignty of the countries of the region, in accordance with the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding signed on June 17, 2026, its treacherous aggression reveals its disregard for the international community and the commitments it has made to itself. While the Kingdom affirms that it reserves its full legitimate right to defend its sovereignty, security, and stability in accordance with international law, the Ministry calls on the Security Council to assume its responsibilities in ensuring the implementation of its decision and holding the aggressor accountable.
