OpenAI postpones the launch of GPT-5.6

OpenAI, the developer of GPT Chat, announced that it will postpone the full public launch of the latest series of artificial intelligence models, GPT-5.6, in response to a request from the US government, with access to it in the first phase limited to a limited number of trusted partners. The company explained that it had begun a “limited preview” of the “GPT-5.6” series, which includes three models: “Sol,” “Terra,” and “Luna.” The company said that it reviewed the launch plans and capabilities of the models with the US government before announcing them, adding that it had begun, at the government’s request, to make the models available to a small group of trusted partners, before rolling them out on a larger scale.
