Artificial intelligence guides students to appropriate university majors

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research allowed citizen students to benefit from artificial intelligence technologies to choose between 913 academic programs within 11 fields of study, in addition to applying for external scholarships, through the national unified registration platform. This service contributes to supporting students to make informed academic decisions based on accurate data, taking into account their interests and abilities, and enhancing the chances of choosing the most appropriate major for them.
In detail, the National Platform for Unified Registration has provided students with the ability to search for programs, scholarships, and universities that suit their goals using artificial intelligence. The platform begins by asking a set of introductory questions with the aim of determining the path and educational opportunities most appropriate for the student, including: place of residence, type of school, grade, subjects he is studying, the date on which he plans to begin university studies, and finally the fields or specializations in which he is interested.
The platform, supported by artificial intelligence, analyzes the student’s data, compares it with the requirements of universities, academic programs, and scholarships, and provides customized recommendations that suit his qualifications, interests, and future plans, helping him choose the most appropriate major that is compatible with his schedule. This contributes to enabling students to make more informed decisions, increasing their chances of academic and professional success, and directing them toward educational opportunities that are compatible with their qualifications and ambitions.
The platform provided 11 fields of study within the country, including 913 academic programmes, including: 6 academic programs in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries and veterinary medicine, 110 programs in the arts and humanities, 267 programs in the fields of business, management and law, 16 academic programs in the field of education, 165 in engineering, manufacturing and construction, 75 programs in health and care, 107 programs in information and communications technologies, and 32 programs in… Natural sciences, mathematics and statistics, 10 programs in service specializations, 124 programs in social sciences, journalism and information, and one program in general programs and qualifications. The platform also provides a program for scholarships abroad, as the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research provides the “request a scholarship” service throughout the year, to enable citizen students to study in the best international universities, within the national priority specializations. The unified platform for registration and admission to higher education institutions allows students in the 10th and 11th grades to plan early for their academic paths, by searching, browsing, and reviewing the academic programs offered by higher education institutions without applying, while students in the 12th grade and above can apply for admission to higher education institutions, as the entire application procedures have been digitized.
Updated version
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research launched the updated version of the unified platform for registration and admission to higher education institutions, in cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Education, ensuring the integration of data and procedures between the general and higher education stages, and enhancing students’ ability to plan their academic paths and make more informed decisions about their educational future. The updated platform provides a completely new user interface that combines simplicity and clarity. It includes three main interfaces for students, schools, and higher education institutions, and provides a smooth and easy-to-use digital experience, designed in accordance with international best practices.
