Intensive campaigns to seize vehicles with expired tires

Brigadier Jumaa Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Traffic Department at Dubai Police, called on road users to ensure the safety of vehicle parts, inspect tires and monitor their condition, especially in the current period of the year when temperatures reach their highest levels, in addition to the desire of a large number of community members to travel by land using their cars for long distances in different climates. Emphasizing the need to increase awareness and enhance traffic culture among drivers and road users about the importance of ensuring the safety and suitability of the vehicle in order to preserve their lives and the lives of others.
He pointed out that in light of the high temperatures that we witness during the summer period, vehicle drivers must ensure that all security and safety measures are available in the vehicle, and conduct periodic inspection of it, in addition to adhering to traffic laws and regulations while driving, noting that no external additives are installed in the vehicle from other than approved parties, which usually lead to many breakdowns and are a major cause of fires in vehicles. Pointing out that police agencies at the state level are carrying out intensive traffic awareness and control campaigns during this period, and they are also focusing on seizing vehicles with expired tires in order to preserve the lives of road users.
Brigadier Jumaa bin Suwaidan pointed out that the General Traffic Department of Dubai Police recorded 3,589 violations related to the safety of vehicle parts during the first five months of this year, including 1,737 violations of driving a vehicle that does not meet security and safety conditions, 1,026 violations of driving a vehicle that is not fit to run on the road, and 826 violations of the vehicle’s tires being unusable while driving.
