The future of health care is based on a system that puts people at the heart of its priorities

Director General of the Emirates Drug Corporation, Dr. Fatima Al Kaabi, confirmed that the future of health care is based on an integrated system that keeps pace with the needs of society and puts people at the heart of its priorities, in a way that enhances prevention, improves the quality of life, and supports the sustainability of the health system.

Al Kaabi said that the Cabinet’s adoption of the UAE Strategy for Integrative Medicine embodies this trend, by building a health system that combines modern medicine with traditional and complementary practices, according to solid scientific foundations, and with the highest standards of quality and safety.

She added that the Emirates Council for Integrative Medicine is leading the implementation phase of the strategy by setting priorities, strengthening regulatory frameworks, and building partnerships, in a way that consolidates the position of integrative medicine within the national health system and enhances community confidence in this sector, in line with the aspirations of the UAE to develop health care services.

She explained that the Council’s vision is to build an organized and sustainable sector, by unifying efforts and enhancing coordination between regulatory, health, research and educational bodies, in addition to developing standards of practice, regulating the sector, and investing in education, scientific research and innovation, in order to provide an integrated environment that supports the growth of this field in accordance with international best practices.

Al-Kaabi stressed that the success of any health sector is measured by its direct impact on the lives of community members, noting that this principle forms the basis on which the Council relies in implementing its goals and enhancing the quality of health services in the country.
