Mexican Quiñones sets a record in the 2026 World Cup

Mexican national team player Julian Quiñones continued his brilliance with his country in the current edition of the World Cup, after he scored and assisted a goal for his teammates in the Mexican national team’s 2-0 victory over Ecuador, in the match that brought them together at dawn today, Wednesday, in the 32nd round of the tournament.

Quiñones, who is 28 years old, raised the number of goals he scored in the current edition to three, and also gave him an assist for his teammate Raul Jimenez in the first half of the match, making him the second Mexican player in history to score and assist a goal in one match in the qualifying rounds of the World Cup, since the achievement of player Manuel Negrete in the 1986 World Cup against Bulgaria.

The Mexican national team set a date next Monday in the round of 16, in which it will meet the winner of England’s match against the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
