Flydubai launches its daily direct flights to Bangkok

Flydubai has launched its daily direct flights to Don Mueang International Airport in the Thai capital, Bangkok, which has become the carrier’s second destination in Thailand after Krabi.

The inaugural flight landed from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport, amid an official reception and welcome with traditional water cannons.

What enhances the importance of this step is the inclusion of the new flights within the codeshare agreement with Emirates Airlines, providing travelers with seamless connections, a unified ticket, and access to a wide network of global destinations.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of Flydubai, stressed that the launch of daily direct flights to Bangkok provides a new gateway that meets customers’ aspirations for travel for leisure or business purposes, indicating that this route will contribute effectively to facilitating and growing the movement of trade and tourism, and consolidating Dubai’s position as a leading global center in the aviation sector.

Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Thapani Kiatphaipul, explained that the launch of these flights via Boeing 737 MAX aircraft adds important operational capacity to the Thai market during the summer season and in preparation for the travel peak at the end of the year. She pointed to the importance of the UAE and Middle East market, which provides her country with high-spending travelers, as Thailand received more than 188,000 visitors from the region from the beginning of this year until late June 2026.

In the same context, Sudhir Sreedharan, Regional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at Flydubai, pointed out that the new destination provides convenient travel options from the Emirates and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, coinciding with the momentum of summer holidays.

Bangkok is flydubai’s latest addition to its growing network, following the recent launch of its flights to Benghazi, Libya, and before the start of its flights to Pokhara, Nepal, next September, which reflects the carrier’s commitment to constantly opening new markets.
