Abu Dhabi, 1st July / WAM / The National Archives and Library, in cooperation with the Sheikh Zayed Festival, are organizing the activities of the “Sheikh Zayed Summer Festival” program during the period from July 6 to August 23, 2026.

The programme, which coincides with the Year of the Family, aims to enhance the values of belonging to the homeland and loyalty to the wise leadership, and to consolidate national identity among children and adolescents, in an effort to prepare a cognitively empowered generation that balances adherence to authentic Emirati values and the acquisition of future skills related to artificial intelligence and digital transformation.

His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Majid Al Ali, Director General of the National Archives and Library, stressed that the program embodies the interest of the wise leadership in empowering youth culturally and cognitively, so that they can be ambassadors for their identity and active partners in the process of sustainable development.

He explained that the archive continues its national mission by investing summer vacation time in qualitative programs that enrich the knowledge of generations, introduce them to the history of the Emirates and its cultural heritage, and develop their creative skills through workshops that combine learning and practical application.

The integrated training program targets two age groups over a period of seven weeks. It includes “The Little Explorer” for children from 6 to 11 years old, and “Knowledge Pioneers” for young people from 12 to 18 years old. The activities vary weekly to cover the areas of strengthening national identity, Emirati customs and traditions, and reading workshops, all the way to specialized activities in the sciences of cloud archiving, digital memory, and documenting oral history.

The program also adopts the “learning by doing” methodology by offering workshops in creative writing, designing state landmarks and three-dimensional models using artificial intelligence techniques, in addition to restoring old documents and field visits, which contribute to the development of critical thinking and scientific research, and prepare a generation qualified to deal with the requirements of the future with high efficiency.
