المملكة: The Kingdom recorded a 99% decrease in dust activity during June


The Kingdom recorded a historic 99% decrease in Dust and sand storms during the month of June 2026, compared to historical rates, achieving the lowest Dust activity has been recorded for more than 25 years, according to data from the Regional Center for Dust and Sand Storms.

The center explained that this decrease included most regions of the Kingdom, as the central region and the eastern region recorded a decrease of 99%, while the northern border region achieved a complete decrease of 100%, in an indicator that reflects a noticeable improvement in Air quality and clarity of atmosphere.

Climatic factors

The center stated that this improvement comes as a result of the integration of a number of environmental and climatic factors, most notably the Saudi Green Initiative, cloud seeding programs, improved vegetation cover, and legalization of grazing, in addition to the weakening of the influence of dust-causing air fronts.

It stressed that these indicators reflect the progress of national efforts aimed at reducing dust storms and enhancing environmental sustainability, which contributes to improving Quality of life and raising the level of air quality in various regions of the Kingdom.
