8 cases of doping were detected in the Tunisian World Cup team… and the reason is strange!

The results of doping tests conducted on eight players from the Tunisian national team during its participation in the 2026 World Cup finals revealed traces of the banned substance clenbuterol.
The British newspaper “Daily Mail” reported that “investigations showed that the appearance of the substance was not intentional, and was likely the result of eating contaminated meat during the team’s stay in Mexico, and not with the aim of improving sports performance, which means that no punitive measures or suspensions were taken against the players concerned.”
The players’ clubs were also informed of the full details of the case, confirming that their position was sound and that there was no need for disciplinary sanctions.
The Tunisian national team exited the World Cup in the group stage with heavy results against the Netherlands, Sweden and Japan.
