"Emirates Charity" Enhancing its humanitarian impact inside and outside the country
Ras Al Khaimah, 3 July / WAM / The Emirates Charity Association continues to consolidate its humanitarian mission in supporting society and empowering deserving groups, through implementing a wide package of development projects, relief programs and seasonal initiatives, which have contributed to improving the quality of life of thousands of families and individuals inside and outside the country, within the framework of its vision aimed at creating hope and promoting sustainable charitable work.
In the field of development projects, the association completed 150 mosques in a number of countries, in addition to digging 213 wells and establishing 1,056 water pumps to provide safe and sustainable water sources for communities in need. It also implemented 47 classrooms in support of the education sector, and water irrigation programs contributed to delivering clean water to 5,512 beneficiaries, while 82 patients benefited from medical programs implemented outside the country, in addition to printing and distributing 5,535 Qur’an books, and implementing programs to support 63 productive families with the aim of enhancing self-reliance and improving sources of income.
At the level of social assistance programs, the Association continued to support needy families by providing living assistance to 1,482 families, health assistance to 170 families, and educational assistance to 72 families, in addition to helping 134 distressed families, providing in-kind assistance to 9,275 families, in addition to providing 1,062 new sponsorships within sponsorship programs, and providing general assistance to 38 orphan families, which reflects the Association’s commitment. By meeting the basic needs of the most needy groups.
The “A Few Days” campaign launched by the association during the holy month of Ramadan witnessed widespread community interaction, as it was able to break the fast for 56,500 fasting people inside the country by distributing breakfast meals and setting up Ramadan tents in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. Zakat al-Fitr was also distributed to 6,500 beneficiaries, and 300 orphan families benefited from the “Their Iftar is On You” initiative, in addition to providing Eid clothing. For 350 orphan families, in a scene that embodies the values of solidarity and compassion that characterize Emirati society.
The “Double Your Reward” campaign for Eid al-Adha also achieved qualitative results, as the association implemented 1,400 sacrifice projects outside the country for the benefit of needy families, in addition to performing 94 Hajj pilgrimages in place of the disabled and the deceased, and distributing breakfast meals to 5,000 fasting people on the day of Arafat, which reflects the association’s keenness to provide the opportunity for benefactors to participate in projects with a humanitarian and religious impact.
Abdullah Saeed Al Tunaiji, Secretary-General of the Emirates Charitable Society, confirmed that these achievements come as a result of the continuous support that charitable work enjoys in the Emirates, and the great trust that benefactors and charitable partners place in the Society, indicating that the Society is proceeding according to a clear vision based on maximizing the humanitarian impact and sustaining development projects that contribute to improving the lives of beneficiaries and enhancing the quality of services provided to them.
