"EasyJet" Britain accepts a takeover offer worth $7.3 billion

LONDON, 6 July / WAM / The British airline EasyJet announced on Sunday its approval of a takeover deal by the American investment company Castletech for approximately 5.5 billion pounds ($7.34 billion).

EasyJet’s Board of Directors confirmed in a statement that it had been initially agreed to sell the company’s shares for 6.90 pounds ($9.23) per share, pending approval by the relevant official authorities.

He explained that the investment company “Castletec” has until August 3 to legally submit the acquisition offer before submitting it to the shareholders’ council.

EasyJet operates low-cost flights to 38 European destinations, and operates 355 aircraft across more than 1,200 routes.
