Air Arabia launches direct flights between Sharjah and London

Air Arabia announced the launch of its new direct flights between Sharjah International Airport and London Gatwick Airport, at a rate of two flights daily, and the inaugural flight began on the fourth of July, in a step that represents a prominent stop within the continuous expansion of the carrier’s international network of destinations.

The new service contributes to enhancing air travel between the UAE and the United Kingdom, by providing economical and comfortable travel options for travelers, in addition to expanding the network of Air Arabia destinations from Sharjah.

To celebrate the launch of the new service, inauguration ceremonies were held at both Sharjah International Airport and London Gatwick Airport.

The ceremony, which was held at Sharjah International Airport, witnessed the presence of the Chairman of the Sharjah International Airport Authority, Ali Salem Al Midfa, and Sheikh Faisal bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah International Airport Authority, along with representatives of the British Embassy in the UAE and senior Air Arabia officials.

In this context, Air Arabia Group CEO, Adel Al Ali, said: “The launch of our new flights to London Gatwick Airport represents an important addition to Air Arabia’s growing international network, and confirms our continued commitment to providing more travel options that combine value, comfort and flexibility for our customers. For his part, Head of Aviation Development at London Gatwick Airport, Johnny MacNeil, said: “We are pleased to welcome Air Arabia to our network of partners, in a step that represents an important milestone in the expansion of the network of airlines and destinations at London Gatwick Airport. The new service, with an average of two flights per day, provides great flexibility for travelers, and also contributes to enhancing air connectivity with the Middle East region and expanding travel options and destinations available, starting from London Gatwick Airport.”
