It caused massive damage.. Hurricane “Buffy” hits the American island of Rota

Super-strong Hurricane Buffy, whose intensity is equivalent to a Category 5 hurricane, hit the US Pacific island of Rota on Monday, with authorities reporting that they had received reports of “severe” damage.

The US Meteorological Service stated that the hurricane is currently moving over Rota Island, expecting wind gusts of up to 290 kilometers per hour, and called on residents to deal with these impending strong winds, as if a hurricane was approaching, with the need to go to an indoor room or shelter immediately.

Local authorities on the small island, located at the southernmost point of the northern Mariana Islands, stated that they had received reports from some of its residents reporting serious damage.
