"Zayed for people of determination" It emphasizes the role of the family as a major partner in the journey of rehabilitation and empowerment
Abu Dhabi, 6 July / WAM / The Zayed Authority for People of Determination confirmed that the family represents the main partner in the success of the rehabilitation and empowerment system, and that investing in the capabilities of people of determination begins with building a real and sustainable partnership with parents, as they are the basic pillar in supporting and assisting their children to achieve their fullest potential and effective integration into society.
This came during the Forum for Families of People of Determination, which was organized by the Authority’s Agricultural and Vocational Rehabilitation Department under the slogan “Because they deserve the best,” with wide participation from parents and families of members, within the framework of the Authority’s keenness to enhance direct communication with families and involve them in developing educational and rehabilitation programs, which contributes to improving the quality of services and achieving the best outcomes for its members.
The forum provided a space for direct dialogue between parents, teachers, trainers and specialized cadres, to enhance the exchange of experiences, discuss educational and rehabilitation plans for members, and review best practices that support their development, thus enhancing their opportunities for independence and quality of life, and consecrating the partnership approach adopted by the Authority with the family in the various stages of rehabilitation and empowerment.
The results of the questionnaire conducted by the Authority at the conclusion of the forum showed a high level of parents’ satisfaction with the various aspects of the event, with the overall satisfaction rate reaching 98%, while all participants confirmed that the forum strengthened their role as essential partners in their children’s educational and rehabilitation journey.
The results showed that 99% of parents reported that direct meetings with teachers and trainers contributed to enhancing their knowledge of their children’s level and needs, while 97% praised the accompanying activities and events and their role in providing a positive experience that brought happiness to students and their families, which reflects the success of the forum in achieving its goals and enhancing the effective partnership between the Authority and families.
The forum included introductory presentations that reviewed the programs and services of the Agricultural and Vocational Rehabilitation Department, in addition to individual meetings between families, teachers, and trainers to follow up on the members’ individual plans and levels of progress, as well as social and recreational activities aimed at strengthening the bonds of communication between the Authority and families, and enhancing the positive environment that supports the success of the rehabilitation journey.
Mohammed Salem Al Shabib, Director of the Agricultural and Vocational Rehabilitation Department at the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, confirmed that the successes achieved by the Authority in its educational and rehabilitation programs reflect the fruit of a strong partnership with families and parents, who represent the cornerstone in the journey of empowering their children, pointing out that the involvement of the family in the various stages of rehabilitation is one of the most important factors for the success of the programs and the sustainability of their impact.
He said that the family is the first environment in which trust is built, capabilities are discovered, and success stories are created. From this standpoint, the Authority is keen to establish a sustainable partnership with parents, based on dialogue, communication and exchange of experiences, in a way that enhances the effectiveness of its rehabilitation and educational programs and enables its sons and daughters of determination to achieve their fullest potential and actively participate in society.
Al-Shabib added that the family is not a recipient of the service, but rather an essential partner in planning, monitoring and evaluation. Therefore, the Authority is keen to listen to its opinions and benefit from its proposals on an ongoing basis, which contributes to developing its services and achieving the best results for its members. He pointed out that every achievement achieved by a person of determination is the result of the integration of roles between the family and the Authority, which enhances the sustainability of successes and embodies its vision of building an integrated system of empowerment based on partnership and shared responsibility.
The “Because They Deserve the Best” forum embodies the commitment of the Zayed Authority for People of Determination to enhance the role of the family as a strategic partner in the journey of rehabilitation and empowerment, and to establish channels of direct communication with it, in line with the Authority’s vision of providing integrated services in accordance with the best international practices, and in a way that supports the UAE’s directions towards empowering people of determination, enhancing their quality of life, and consolidating their active participation in the process of sustainable development.
