Elham Shaheen is preparing for “When Love is Written” and is returning strongly to the cinema with two new films

The artist, Elham Shaheen, continues to regain her cinematic presence strongly during the year 2026, after she revealed her readiness; To begin filming her latest film, “When Love is Written,” after she recently finished filming the film “Barefoot,” marking a remarkable return to the big screen, through two cinematic works in one year, after an absence of about five years, since her last cinematic starring in the film “Curfew.”

The Arab star announced the start of her preparations for the new film, through her official Instagram account, where she shared with her followers a group of photos, which she collected with the work team on the banks of the Nile River in Cairo, in an atmosphere that reflected a state of enthusiasm and optimism before filming resumed, after a pause imposed by the engagements of a number of the film’s heroes to film their dramatic works, during the last Ramadan season.
The Egyptian artist attached the photos to a message, which said: “With the makers of the film (When Love is Written), the first directorial director, Mohamed Hani, and the artist producer Nayef Abdullah,” indicating the launch of a new phase of work, especially since the film is Mohamed Hani’s first cinematic directorial experience, while it is produced by the artist Nayef Abdullah.
“When Love is Written” is one of the works that brings together a large group of movie and drama stars. Along with Elham Shaheen, Ahmed El-Fishawy, Dorra, Moatasem El-Nahar, Jamila Awad, Sheri Adel, Elham Safi El-Din, Aida Riad, Sarah Baraka, Nancy Salah, and Sherif Hafez, along with a number of other artists.

The film bears the signatures of writer Saja Muhammad and writer Hisham Al-Khalifat, and belongs to the type of social romantic works, as it deals with a group of interwoven human stories, revolving around emotional relationships in their various forms, and the feelings that accompany them: love, loss, and difficult choices, in a dramatic framework that highlights the impact of personal decisions on the fates of the heroes, while presenting more than one dramatic line that combines romance and the human dimension.
Filming of the film had begun last year, but the work team was forced to stop it temporarily due to a number of its participants being busy filming their television work for the month of Ramadan, before preparations resumed again during the current period. In preparation for completing photography.
At the same time, Elham Shaheen recently finished filming the film “Al Hafi”, which represents her first cinematic steps in 2026, and raises a contemporary social issue, related to the new form of quackery and sorcery, and how social media and digital platforms have turned into tools that some fraudsters exploit to influence people’s minds, and delude them into possessing supernatural abilities or solutions to their problems, with the aim of achieving huge financial profits.
During the events of the film, Shaheen embodies the character of “Aziza”, a popular woman who enjoys wide influence and great wealth, and many events revolve around her, which reveal the secrets of the modern world of quackery, and the conflicts that arise as a result of exploiting technology to deceive the simple, in a treatment that mixes drama with suspense, while shedding light on an issue that has been preoccupying public opinion in recent years.

An elite group of artists are participating in the “Al-Hafi” tournament, including: Ahmed Badir, Amr Abdel Jalil, Khaled Al-Sawy, Rania Farid Shawqi, Amira Fathi, Badria Tolba, and Iman Al-Sayed, along with Ilham Safi El-Din, and a number of artists.
