By federal decree from the President of the State… Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi was appointed Secretary-General of the National Media Authority

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, issued a federal decree appointing Mohammed Saeed Rashid Al Shehhi as Secretary-General of the National Media Authority, with the rank of Undersecretary.

The Secretary-General of the National Media Authority is responsible before the Chairman of the Authority for coordinating the evaluation and follow-up of the state’s media narrative, contributing to enhancing the state’s reputation and positive image, and early detection of media crises facing the state, in addition to supervising the Authority’s policies, strategies and legislation related to regulating and developing the national media sector in the country and licensing media outlets and media activities. He also supervises the Emirates News Agency (WAM), and organizes the registration and accreditation of media professionals and foreign media correspondents in the country, including in the free zones.

Mohammed Al Shehhi served as Secretary General of the Emirates Media Council. He also held a number of leadership positions in the fields of media, sports, and specialized areas. He supervised the development of projects to develop the media sector in the UAE and empower national talent and capabilities in these fields.
