“Emirates Fatwa” warns against social media fatwas

The Emirates Council for Sharia Fatwa has warned individuals against taking fatwas and Sharia rulings from websites and electronic accounts, or through social media platforms, anonymous accounts, or from unlicensed individuals.

The Council confirmed, through its account on the “X” platform, that the fatwa is a responsibility, calling on the public to refer to the national fatwa institutions when needed to know any legal ruling, as they are the safe and reliable source, in order to preserve our homeland, protect our society, and preserve our future generations.

He also stressed the importance of not relying on anonymous accounts, avoiding fatwas circulating through social media platforms, and staying away from unofficial bodies.
