A strategic partnership between the Community Development Authority and…"Emirates Vehicle Shipping" To promote sustainable transport in Dubai

DUBAI, 9 JULY / WAM / The Community Development Authority in Dubai signed a strategic agreement with the Emirates Electric Vehicle Charging Company (UAEV), as the first charging network wholly owned by the UAE government, to deploy charging stations in the authority’s neighborhood councils and wedding halls.

This proactive step aims to enhance and expand sustainable transport infrastructure, and facilitate residents and visitors’ access to clean energy solutions, in line with the objectives of the “Dubai Social Agenda 33” aimed at building a sustainable society, and supports the UAE’s efforts to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.

The first phase of the project witnessed the actual operation of the stations in the councils of Al Rashidiya, Al Barsha and Nad Al Sheba, with work to be completed during the current year 2026 in the councils of Al Khawaneej, Al Warqa and the Al Barsha wedding hall.

The second phase is scheduled to begin in 2027 and includes Al Twar Wedding Hall and the Al Awir and Hatta Majlis. This step constitutes a model of sustainable partnership that supports the Community Development Fund by investing the proceeds of cooperation in community programs.

Sheikha Al Jarman, CEO of the Social Development Sector at the Community Development Authority in Dubai, confirmed that this initiative makes community facilities supportive platforms for the transition towards a green economy, and contributes to raising environmental awareness and facilitating the adoption of sustainable transport.

Ali Al Darwish, acting CEO of the Emirates Company for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations, explained that the partnership provides a reliable and easy infrastructure that brings services closer to community members, noting that the company will continue to develop its network to aim to provide more than 1,000 high-speed charging stations nationwide by 2030.
