Haaland’s father makes a fiery statement after Norway’s loss to England

Alf Inge Haaland, the father of Erling Haaland, the star of the Norwegian national football team, considered that his country’s national team was “robbed” in the quarter-finals of the World Cup, but he hopes that the English national team will continue its journey towards winning the tournament title, after his country’s national team was eliminated.
The former Leeds United player and father of the Manchester City striker said that the England national team, led by coach Thomas Tuchel, was “saved by the referee” during the 2-1 win in Miami.
British news agency PA Media reported that the referee canceled a goal scored by Torbjörn Heegem, which would have given Norway a 2-1 lead, after he called Erling Haaland a foul for pushing Elliot Anderson while taking a corner kick.
In response to a post by journalist Henry Winter on the “X” platform, Haaland Sr. wrote: “The referee saved them. I hope you win the World Cup now, but I feel like we were robbed today.”
In a previous post, referring to Jude Bellingham’s decisive second goal, he wrote: “Well done Bellingham… and well done referee.”
Television cameras had previously spotted Haaland Sr. directing a gesture with his hand (raising two fingers) towards someone in the stands, after he indicated that Jed Spence claimed to fall to obtain a penalty kick, before the referee retracted his decision after the intervention of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology.
