"Sharjah Electricity Authority" 16 lighting projects will be completed in the central region within 6 months

Sharjah, 12 July / WAM / The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority continues its efforts to implement and develop lighting projects in all regions and districts of the central region according to a specific plan and timetable, within the framework of the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to develop the infrastructure in all regions of the emirate and provide the best services to citizens and residents.

During the first half of this year, 965 new lighting poles and 1,305 floodlights were installed, 41,150 kilometers of cables were extended, and 679 floodlights were replaced at a cost of about 5,400 million dirhams, in various locations, districts and cities in the central region.

Engineer Khalifa Mohammed Al Tunaiji, Director of the Central Region Administration, explained that the lighting projects implemented by the Authority in the Central Region during the first half of this year included the implementation of 16 projects, whether installing new poles or replacing lighting lamps in various regions and locations. These projects come within the Authority’s strategic plan aimed at enhancing safety and traffic safety rates on the roads, and providing a sustainable and illuminated environment according to the highest standards, with a focus on operational efficiency and rationalization of energy consumption.

He pointed out that the projects that were implemented included lighting the Al Dhaid University housing street – the second phase, lighting the internal roads of Al Dhaid Commercial District and Al Yadiyah District, and the Camel Track – the second stage, lighting the internal roads of Al Thuqaybah District, replacing the floodlights on the school road in Al Madam, replacing the floodlights in Al Faya District and Al Burair District, lighting the parking lots of Al Nasr Mosque and Al Hawiyah District, the second stage, the street leading to the Suhaila Educational Complex, and the street leading to Fali Fort, and replacing Al-Hawiyah District floodlights and Al-Rafi’ah District 2 floodlights, lighting the internal roads of Al-Dhaid Commercial, Phase 2, and lighting the internal roads of Al-Sidrah District.

He stressed that the development of lighting networks in the Central Region is an essential pillar of the Authority’s development plans using advanced technical specifications, to ensure continuity and efficiency of operation with the lowest possible maintenance costs, and in accordance with the environmental sustainability standards of the Emirate of Sharjah. The Authority will continue implementing its development plans in the Central Region, and continuous coordination work with municipalities, municipal councils, and various entities to identify the needs of the people and meet them, in a way that ensures improving the quality of life and providing services at high levels.
