Fulfilling a Wish: 515 wishes for children will be fulfilled during the first half of the year "Family year"

Abu Dhabi, July 13 / WAM / The wife of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, Sheikha Sheikha bint Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the “Make a Wish” Foundation, confirmed that granting the wishes of children with serious illnesses represents a profound humanitarian message, giving them hope, strength and moral support during their medical journey, and leaving a lasting positive impact on their lives and the lives of their families.
Sheikha Sheikha said that during the first half of 2026, coinciding with the “Year of the Family,” the Foundation granted 515 wishes for children representing 25 nationalities and facing 46 different health conditions, which reflects the Foundation’s humanitarian role in reaching children inside and outside the UAE, and giving them moments of joy and hope at a time when they need it most.
She explained that the fulfilled wishes included 215 wishes within the UAE, 176 wishes in the Arab Republic of Egypt, 82 wishes in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, 29 wishes in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and 13 wishes in the Republic of Yemen.
Sheikha Sheikha added that the Foundation was able during this period to achieve 57% of its annual target, as 291 male and female children benefited from the wishes.
The fulfilled wishes were divided into five main categories, including 495 wishes in the “I hope to get” category, 15 wishes in the “I hope to go” category, 3 wishes in the “I Wish to Become” category, one wish in the “I Wish to Meet” category, in addition to one wish in the “I Wish to Give” category.
She stressed that every wish that is fulfilled is carefully designed to suit the child’s personality, interests, and health conditions, giving him a safe and inspiring experience, and enhancing his self-confidence and sense of joy and optimism.
She pointed out that the true value of these achievements does not lie in the numbers alone, but in the human stories behind every wish, and in the psychological and moral impact it leaves on children and their families.
She also indicated that these achievements were achieved thanks to close cooperation with 29 hospitals and health care providers inside and outside the UAE, which contributed to reaching eligible children to fulfill wishes in a timely manner, and implementing their wishes in a way that takes into account their needs and health and humanitarian conditions.
Sheikha Sheikha bint Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan expressed her appreciation to the “Make a Wish” Foundation’s work team for their dedication and continuous efforts, thanking all partners and supporters from hospitals, hotels, shopping centers and various sectors, stressing that their continued support constitutes an essential pillar in the continuation of the Foundation’s mission, and embodies the values of giving, solidarity and social responsibility established in the UAE.
