Cooperation between "Trends Training" and"Isis" Italian project to develop scientific research in artificial intelligence
Rome, July 13, 2017 – The Trends Training Institute, affiliated with the Trends Group, and the Italian AISES Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding and strategic cooperation at the Giustiniani Palace, the main headquarters of the Italian Senate in Rome.
The signing of the memorandum was an extension of the international scientific symposium hosted by the Council in the Zukari Hall on the governance of artificial intelligence, confirming the keenness of both sides to transform scientific dialogue into sustainable institutional partnerships that contribute to producing knowledge, supporting innovation, and creating future solutions.
The signing was witnessed by His Excellency Abdullah Ali Ateeq Obaid Al Sabousi, UAE Ambassador to the Italian Republic, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Trends Group, Valerio De Luca, Director of the School of Economic and Social Policies (SPES), President of the AISES Foundation and President of the Academy of Innovation, Economic Development and Security (Fondazione AISES ETS), along with Awad Al Buraiki, Director General of Trends Global, and a number of officials, experts and researchers.
The memorandum of understanding aims to launch joint programs in the fields of scientific research, specialized training, international cooperation, promoting higher education, applied research, innovation, and technology transfer, in addition to developing joint initiatives that support integration between the cyber and space sectors, as they are among the most important pillars of national security, industrial competitiveness, and technological sovereignty in light of the rapid global transformations.
It provides for exchanging experiences, conducting joint studies and research, organizing conferences, seminars and training programs, and developing research initiatives that respond to global challenges in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, space, and emerging technologies.
Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Al-Ali stressed that the signing of this memorandum represents a new station in Trends’ journey towards expanding its global network of partnerships with leading scientific and research institutions, thus contributing to the production of reliable knowledge that anticipates the future of strategic sectors.
He said that cooperation with the ISIS Foundation, and under the dome of the Italian Senate, embodies Trends’ belief that facing global challenges, most notably artificial intelligence and advanced technology, requires joint, cross-border research work and partnerships that bring together international expertise to produce innovative solutions based on science and knowledge, and contribute to empowering youth through training programs.
He added that this memorandum will open broad horizons for implementing joint research projects, organizing specialized training programs, and preparing strategic studies that support innovation and knowledge transfer, thus enhancing the position of scientific research as one of the most important engines of development and shaping the future.
For his part, Valerio De Luca stressed that the memorandum represents a starting point for a balanced partnership between East and West, explaining that its launch from the Italian Senate gives it an institutional and symbolic dimension, and makes it a bridge for scientific and intellectual cooperation between Europe, the countries of the Mediterranean and the Middle East.
He pointed out that cooperation with Trends will contribute to developing joint initiatives that combine scientific research, innovation and technology, and contribute to building a knowledge system capable of keeping pace with rapid international transformations.
For his part, Awad Al-Buraiki stressed that the memorandum of understanding represents a qualitative addition to Trends’ journey in building influential international partnerships with leading academic and research institutions.
He explained that the agreement will be translated into practical programs that include implementing joint research, organizing workshops and specialized training programs, and exchanging experiences between researchers, which contributes to developing scientific competencies and producing strategic studies that serve issues of cybersecurity, space, artificial intelligence, and advanced technology.
He stressed that this partnership reflects Trends’ vision of building a global network of research and knowledge cooperation, and transforming scientific outputs into practical initiatives that contribute to supporting sustainable development, promoting innovation, and consolidating the position of scientific research as a basic pillar for creating the future.
