The Emirates Charity Association launched the “Summer of Giving” campaign, which includes six specific humanitarian initiatives aimed at alleviating the repercussions of the summer season on needy families, workers, and the most needy groups inside and outside the country, as an embodiment of the UAE’s approach to promoting social solidarity and sustainable charitable work.

The Secretary-General of the Emirates Charitable Society, Abdullah Saeed Al Tunaiji, confirmed that the campaign was designed based on an actual study of the most prominent challenges facing deserving groups, with the aim of providing practical solutions that contribute to improving the quality of their lives and providing stability for them, calling on members of society and institutions of the government and private sectors to actively contribute to supporting the campaign to expand the scope of its humanitarian impact.

The campaign covers various living needs through its innovative initiatives, which include the “Cool Their Lives” initiative to provide cooling devices for needy families, the “Light Their Lives” initiative dedicated to paying electricity bills and alleviating financial burdens, in addition to the “And We Made Water Every Living Thing” initiative to distribute cold water to workers at their work sites in appreciation of their efforts and to preserve their safety.

The initiatives extended to include providing housing stability through the “Safe Home” initiative concerned with paying rent dues, and the “Happiness of an Orphan” initiative, which supports social and educational activities for orphans.

On the external level, the association presents the “Summer Basket” initiative to provide food baskets to needy families outside the country, in a way that enhances their food security and contributes to providing their basic needs.
