"Dubai Culture" It concludes the first music education program for Emiratis and paves the way for talent to go global

DUBAI, 14 JULY / WAM / The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, “Dubai Culture”, concluded the first edition of the “Musical Education for Emiratis” program, which it organized in cooperation with the “National Youth Orchestra – Dubai”, and contributed to the qualification of 20 Emirati students through 1,850 specialized training hours, with the aim of discovering musical talents, refining their skills, and enabling them to build a professional artistic career, thus enhancing the growth of the music sector in the emirate and consolidating Dubai’s position as a global center for culture and incubator. For creativity.

The program falls under the umbrella of the “Dubai Cultural Scholarship,” where students participated over the course of a full academic year in specialized workshops and lessons in orchestral playing, group performance, and solo playing of musical instruments, under the supervision of five international musicians and trainers specializing in violin, cello, woodwinds, piano, and singing, which provided them with an educational experience that combined theoretical knowledge with practical application and contributed to developing their skills and enhancing their self-confidence.

Shaima Rashid Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Arts, Design and Literature Sector at Dubai Culture, confirmed that the program represents a qualitative step to prepare a generation of Emirati musicians capable of enriching the local artistic scene and competing on the international stage, noting that the Authority continues to provide a stimulating environment that provides talents with learning opportunities and openness to global experiences in a way that supports the cultural and creative industries.

For her part, Amira Fouad, Executive Director and Artistic Director of the National Youth Orchestra – Dubai, explained that the program provided an inspiring platform to discover local talents and enhance their artistic capabilities, through intensive training and specialized educational experiences that reflect the importance of music in building bridges of communication between cultures.

The program will continue to support its members through the participation of a number of students during this July in the artistic tour of the National Youth Orchestra – Dubai to the Austrian capital, Vienna, where they will perform in prestigious international music halls, including the Musikverein Hall, the Wiener Kunsthaus and the Radio Kulturhaus, in a historic achievement that makes the orchestra the first Emirati orchestra to perform in these ancient halls.
