Egypt condemns the targeting of two Emirati oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz

The Arab Republic of Egypt condemned, in the strongest terms, the targeting of two Emirati oil tankers while they were crossing the Strait of Hormuz, which represents a serious violation of the rules of international law, and a direct threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation and the freedom of trade movement in one of the most important international waterways.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed, in a statement issued today, Tuesday, Egypt’s complete rejection of all actions that target ships and civilian facilities or endanger the security of navigation and global energy supplies, stressing the need to adhere to the rules of international law and refrain from any practices that would inflame tension and expand the cycle of escalation in the region.

Egypt expressed its full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates, and its standing by its side in the face of everything that threatens its security and interests.
